This is a service to request books, and journals not held in the CPIT library. We can request an interlibrary loan from another library in NZ or overseas, or we can purchase an article or document direct from a publisher of a document supply company.
Anyone who is a current staff member at CPIT may use the Interloan/Document Delivery service.
Note: staff enrolled in courses at other institutions will have access to Interloan/Document delivery services at that institution and should use these for their study.
Interloans are also available to students should the content of the CPIT Library not be relevant to their topic.
The Library will not provide this service for resources that are for personal interest.
Books and journals and most NZ University Theses can be requested. The material must be required to support your teaching, study or research at CPIT.
If you request an article from a journal or a section of a book, a photocopy will be provided which does not need to be returned.
Books can usually be loaned for 4 weeks.
University Theses will be sent to CPIT Library but are reference only and cannot be taken out of the Library.

Ask at the Information Desk in the Library, or email docsupply@cpit.ac.nz – providing as much detail as you can.
You should allow at least two week for an interloan. It depends on where the item is available and how quickly the supplying library responds. Document supply from a publisher can be much quicker.
You will be notified by email when your request arrives.
Articles requested by staff will be sent through the internal mail.
Students will collect material from the Library check-out desk.
Staff requiring an urgent interloan should be aware that there is an extra cost involved, please make urgent requests with discretion.
Currently this is a free service to staff and students, although there is a cost to CPIT Library.
